music meme wrap up

Here are the songs that no one guessed in my music meme.

Under the cut. )

Also, I'm feeling very cool right now. I usually have my computer on the computer desk because otherwise the cats would walk all over the keyboard and such, becase my other desk is next to the window and they jump on it to get to the windowsill. But right now I'm sitting at my "regular" desk, because I moved the computer here just for the fun of it, because I can, because it's a laptop! :D
I'm such a dork. And so easy to please. XD

Snatched from [info]sivi_volk:

The rules:
Step 1: Put your Winamp or equivalent on random.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 50 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing.
NB - skip if you can't find the lyrics for it.
Step 3: Strike out the songs when someone guesses the titles and artists correctly and list the answer with the username of the person who guessed it at the end of the lyric.
Step 4: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is cheating.

Disclaimer: There's some lyrics here in languages I don't understand or suck at, so the lyrics I copied from the net might include some mistakes. If so, my apologies.

Let's see then... )

SLOVENIJAAAAAA!!! :D :D :D

I'm so proud of our boys for making it into the qualifications for the Olympics and for already qualifying for the next Europeans. I know they started off great and then it all sort of fell apart during and after that game with Greece, but hot damn, did they turn that last game against France around! ♥

Up yours, Milič, Brezec, and the rest of you pretentious NBA wankers who couldn't be bothered to show up for the team! Who needs ya? Rasho for president! ^_^

And I'm sorry, [info]misatoblue, I know you were really disappointed when Spain lost, but YAY, RUSSIA! :D

All in all, a pretty great tournament. :D I just wish I had the time to actually watch more than just a couple of games instead of studying stupid english historical grammar which I bet I'm flunking again anyway. >_>

So yeah, stupid exam tomorrow (at eight thirty *faints*). Wish me luck. :|

I ♥ Tori Amos so much. She is a goddess.

The concert was brilliant, absolutely fantastic. And long too, she played for almost two and a half hours. And she wore this groovy glittering disco jumpsuit of sorts. I love.

Sis and I got there 10 past six because I insisted we get there early to get good seats. When we got there, the door wasn't open yet, we could hear the sound check, and there were about 25 people hanging around at the door. Doors opened at seven thirthy (Half an hour before the concert, WTF people?) and we got seats in the fith row. Well, the fourth when we got in, but the first one was reserved for very important people who came in after the support act. I think it was fans that won some draw or something and got to meet Tori before the concert.

Oh, and the support act, Joshua Radin, was cool to. Very nice.

In other news - the exam went quite alright yesterday. I really hope I pass. I might as well quit English altogether if I don't, cause if I flunked this after two weeks of studying, I'm NEVER passing Syntax. >_>

In more other news - I finally watched Spiderman yesterday. Sandman and Venom were way cool. Other than that: *barf*. Thanks for the warning, [info]kalamitykat. If I hadn't known what to expect, I'd probably kill a few people after the sappy snoozfest was finally over. WTF, people? WHO came up with this script?

Also, I wanna go see The Fantastic Four, damnit. The Silver Surfer looks SO cool. Maybe I'll just go alone, since no one I know in this entire town would go with me. >_>

MUSE report ♥ ♥ ♥

  • Dec. 14th, 2006 at 12:58 AM
hand
It's been almost a week since the concert, but I can't go see Muse ♥ ♥ ♥ in concert and not report about it. ^_^

The concert was FANTASTIC. Everything I thought it would be (having heard tons of stories about Muse being a band one MUST see live) and more. ♥ ♥ ♥ Live, they rock even more than on the records. Matt's voice is very strong, so he delivers the songs perfectly, high pitch included. ♥ ♥ ♥ And if Dom doesn't have THE coolest drum kit installation on the planet, I'll eat my socks. ♥ ♥ ♥

I was quite far from the stage because I never feel like getting there 2 or even 3 hours early just so I can see the performer up close. I'm very happy if I manage to get near the stage arriving at a normal hour, but if I can't, well, then I can't. No getting there first and running across the hall and then hanging there like a lemon for two hours like [info]jerneja XD for me, thankyouverymuch.

Absolute highlight:
When they were doing Bliss, these huge-ass balloons came flying from some machine under the stage. LOTS of them. The crowd was passing them around then, so they were bouncing around the hall for the entire song. It looked fabulous.
When the song was over, there were around 8 balloons left. And Dom said: "You have to pop the balloons before we can continue playing. That's how it's done." So the band was just standing around on the stage for a few minutes, laughing at the crowd trying to pop the balloons. They rock. XD Then a few people pulled out their lighters, and popped the balloons, and the concert continued.

Sis found some clips from the concert on youtube.com, so here they are, if anyone is interested (they're all around 1 minute, so not too long):

Knights of Cydonia, because it looks super-cool with the words appearing on the wallscreen:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHVlmwUdt5c

Starlight, because it's their biggest hit at the moment, and you can hear the crowd singing along, and because of the groovy stars on the wallscreen:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GW9erS5xzCk

Bliss, because of the uberkewl balloons:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLTBhHAUpuI

Supermassive Black Hole, because of the bizzare robots on the wallscreen:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyP7rCxCkeI

And finally, Sunburn, because you can sort of see Dom's groovy drum kit installation on the left, and because I like it when Matt plays the piano ^_^ :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EtrFPBy1DE

(Can you tell I liked the wallscreen? XD)

Oh, and the person filming this must have been standing very near me, because this is the view I had of the show almost exactly.

[info]zmecka: You seem to get this whole youtube business, is there a way for me to get these clips? As in download them?

And now, as far as Wien goes... Funny story. XD My sis (who went with me to the concert, in case I forgot to mention) doesn't really care about Muse. She doesn't really know Muse. She knew, like, 5 songs before we left. But she figured "Hey, it's a rock concert, I like those, and V. is making such a fuss about it, I might as well check it out. Plus she might get lost and never find her way back home if she goes alone (awwwwwww). Plus I'll get a chance to get some shopping done (there are certain shops she loves in Wien)." So we get to Wien around 6 in the afternoon, and it takes us about 10 minutes to make our way to Mariahilferstrasse, where the shops are. And we get there, and we realise that 8th December is a huge holiday in Austria, and all the shops had closed for the day at... 6 o'clock. Sis was NOT happy. XD

So we went to Kafka Cafe, which I swear was haunted by Kafka and it felt really odd and so we left without ordering, and McDonalds, where I ordered the wrong thing for sis because my German sucks and the girl at the register didn't speak English, and then to the venue.

I wanted to get a Muse bag at the venue, but they sold them out by the time I got there (>_>, minor setback to my not getting there too early rule), so I got myself a Muse wallet instead. ♥ ♥ ♥
Like so: http://muse.trinitystreetdirect.com/store/page4.asp?suptype=&t=1&sub_type=3&prod_id=29&col=30
I'd get a T-shirt, but I know I'd never wear it out of the house, and 25-40 € seemed a bit much for a T-shirt I'd wear for sleeping. Muse or no Muse.

So yeah, that's my report. The plan was I also post my b-day party pictures in the update, but this took so long to write, I'll do that some other time. Now I'm off to bed. Nite-nite! *hugs all*

P.S.
I hate the new "Update Journal" layout. But I always hate new layouts because they confuse me. Perhaps it'll grow on me.

We would like to know who really believes in gay rights on LiveJournal. There is no bribe of a miracle or anything like that. If you truly believe in gay rights, then repost this and title the post as "Gay Rights". If you don't believe in gay rights, then just ignore this. Thanks.

Watched The Sentinel. The movie sucks, like I expected, but Kiefer... ♥ ♥ ♥ I love this man.

And I also watched Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man' Chest with my sis yesterday. That was... okay. The movie is fun enough - nothing spectacular, but not really a snooze-fest either. That Captain Jack Sparrow is the absolute highlight of it goes without saying (but I'm saying it just in case anyway :P). And I ♥ Bill Nighy. The man has an octopuss stuck to his face and still he pulls off all sorts of expressions just with his eyes (and what's left of his mouth). And he's funny. :D

potential spoilers under the cut (nothing major) )

So yeah, the film is funny, and definitely worth seeing for Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones. But as it goes for almost every sequel out there - the first part was better. Much better.

What the fuck do they put in Whiskas Junior dry food?
My two cats are just about the most spoiled cats there are, and they don't eat any kind of dry food for longer than a month. If you get the same kind and flavour twice in a row, they won't eat it. Except Whiskas Junior, which they've been gulping down daily since Blixa was a cub. Which was two years ago. So I'm really starting to wonder...

So M bought the FIFA 2006 World Cup Special Edition Monopoly. And today she came over for lunch and brought it with her. She, my sis, and I played it for almost 7 hours straight. XD We played three games, each 'till two of us went bankrupt, and each of us won once in the end. Heh. We're such geeks. But it was so much fun. :D

And in footie "news" - I know I'm behind, but I couldn't post yesterday - Portugal beat England and France beat Brazil WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! :D :D :D

I missed the England-Portugal match, but I watched France-Brazil. Now, I have nothing against Brazil, but they deserved to lose. I mean - WTF was that? It was like the entire team got brainwashed the previous day and couldn't quite remember how to play football. Hm, so what were the French doing the previous day? *raises eyebrow suspiciously* :P

GERMANY WON, GERMANY WON!! WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Eat THAT, stupid Argentina!

*does victory dance*

Though I kind of felt bad for Argentina in the end. I always feel bad for any team that loses via penalty shots. It's just not fair...

P.S.
[info]jerneja, did you notice that enajstmetrovke were called PENALTY SHOOT OUT (heh, kind of gives me a different association, but nevermind)? So that answers your question - they're called penalty shots either way.
